A Sicilian Wedding Weekend in Taormina
Lauren and Alex chose Taormina, the pearl of Sicily, for their wedding weekend: a town perched above the sea, with its ancient Greek Theatre, the bay of Giardini Naxos below and Mount Etna watching over it all. The wedding was planned and designed by WOW Wedding.
The Wedding Day
The film opens with Taormina seen from above, the Greek Theatre on the cliff and the coastline of eastern Sicily. The bride got ready with her bridesmaids on a terrace of The Ashbee Hotel overlooking the sea, while the groom and his family shared the last moments before the ceremony.
The ceremony took place in the gardens of The Ashbee Hotel, among palm trees, white flowers and the mountains of Taormina. The celebration then moved to Villa Mon Repos, where the guests sat down for dinner at sunset with a view of Mount Etna, followed by heartfelt speeches and a party with live music until late at night.
